Browns select Ohio State center Luke Wypler in sixth round of 2023 NFL Draft, trade seventh rounder to Baltimore

BEREA, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Cleveland Browns beefed up the middle of their offensive line in the sixth round Saturday with the selection of Ohio State center Luke Wypler.

Wypler, who was selected 190th overall, becomes the third center drafted in the later rounds by executive vice president of football operations and general manager Andrew Berry joining Nick Harris in the fifth round in 2020 and seventh rounder Dawson Deaton in 2022.

Wypler started the last 26 games for the Buckeyes and was named third-team All-Big Ten as well as academic all-Big Ten.

Wypler is the second Buckeye drafted Saturday joining offensive tackle Dawand Jones, who was picked in the fourth round, No. 111 overall.

It marked the first time the Browns drafted two Ohio State players in the same year since 1965 when they picked halfback Robert "Bo" Scott and guard Ed Orazen.

The Browns traded their seventh round pick, No. 229, to the Baltimore Ravens for a 2024 sixth round pick.
