CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Hours after officially completing the Za’Darius Smith trade to bolster their defense, the Cleveland Browns signed their top draft pick – receiver Cedric Tillman Tuesday.
Tillman was selected in the third round – No. 74 overall – in the 2023 NFL Draft out of Tennessee.
In five seasons Tillman appeared in 44 games with 21 starts for the Volunteers where he caught 109 passes for 1.622 yards and 17 touchdowns.
Tillman caught 24 passes that went for 20 or more yards, 12 for at least 30 yards and 10 for 40 or more yards in his collegiate career that included six 100-yard receiving games.
Owner of the school record for consecutive games with a touchdown reception of seven from October 16-December 30, 2021, Tillman is a three-time member of the SEC academic honor roll.
Tillman graduated with a degree in communication studies in December 2021.
The Browns have now signed six of their seven draft picks from April after signing five players last Friday. Fourth round pick Dawand Jones is the lone selection from the class of 2023 that is unsigned.
