CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns tendered restricted free agent receiver KhaDarel Hodge Monday.

The tender came hours before the NFL’s legal tampering period began and gives the Browns the first right of refusal to match any offer Hodge may receive in free agency.

Cleveland would not receive draft compensation if Hodge signed. The collective bargaining agreement allows the Browns to pull the tender at any time.

Hodge, who is in his fourth NFL season and was claimed off waivers in 2019 from the Rams, won the third receiver slot out of training camp behind Odell Beckham Jr. and Jarvis Landry.

In 2020, Hodge caught 11 passes for 180 yards in nine games after being limited by a hamstring injury and stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He has 15 catches for 256 yards as a Brown while also playing significant snaps on special teams.
