Browns trade CB Troy Hill back to Rams

BEREA, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – A day after selecting cornerback Martin Emerson 68th overall, the Browns traded veteran cornerback Troy Hill to the Los Angeles Rams.

Cleveland received a 2023 fifth-round selection in return.

It was the third trade executed by Browns executive vice president of football operations and general manager Andrew Berry in three days and his second Saturday afternoon.

“With Troy, we just felt like it was a good opportunity for us,” Berry said. “It was a position that we felt like we had depth. We thought the value was appropriate for us. Really, it was just as simple as that. It came together relatively quickly.”

Friday night, Berry traded down from No. 44 to 68, allowing them to take Emerson and Saturday Berry traded the 188th overall pick in round four to Minnesota for a fifth-round pick – No. 156 overall and a 2023 fourth-rounder.

Hill, who spent six years with the Rams prior to joining the Browns, played in 12 games with four starts last season where he totaled 49 tackles – seven for a loss, two sacks and a pass breakup.
