CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns made their first roster reduction of camp Monday afternoon by releasing three and placing two others on injured reserve.
Linebacker Montrel Meander and Cordel Iwuagwu were waived. Cornerback Kiondre Thomas was also waived but with an injury designation after suffering a hamstring injury Saturday night in Jacksonville.
Tight end Stephen Carlson (knee) and receiver Ryan Switzer (foot) were both placed on injured reserve. Carlson was injured in the first half against the Jaguars and Switzer caught a 7-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter that capped a 20-play, 89-yard drive which chewed up nearly 10:30 off the clock.
Teams around the NFL have until 4 p.m. eastern Tuesday to trim their rosters from 90 to 85.
