CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns waived five players Monday afternoon, 23 hours before the NFL’s deadline to cut rosters to 80.
Punter Joseph Charlton, safety Luther Kirk IV, offensive tackle Wyatt Miller, cornerback Parnell Motley and tight end Marcus Santos-Silva were waived the team announced.
By waiving Charlton, the punter job appears to have been won by veteran Corey Bojorquez.
With the roster at 80, the Browns can turn their attention to preparing for the third preseason game Saturday night at Chicago, which will be treated like a dress rehearsal for the regular season.
Rosters must be reduced to 53 next Tuesday, August 30 at 4 p.m.
