It been said by Steelers fans that when the Browns beat Pittsburgh in the 2020 NFL playoffs it was Cleveland’s Super Bowl.
Well, a retiring Browns player pretty much confirmed that this week.
Rashard “Hollywood” Higgins talked to Cleveland Browns Daily about his career and one of his two top career highlights is that 48-37 win in Pittsburgh on January 10, 2021.
The game as a disaster for the Steelers. An over-snapped ball from center Maurkice Pouncey in the opening moments of the game set the tone for a long night in Pittsburgh.
It was a big win for the Browns, that can’t be argued, but Higgins named it a top moment?!
“The Steelers at home and we just had a dog walk in the park with them,” said Higgins. “Listen, we wanted to go to the playoffs so bad and we knew what we needed to do.”
What they didn’t need to do was lose to the Chiefs the next week in Kansas City.
Hosts “Beau and Z” said it was “such a big moment” for the Browns organization.
The game was played with nearly nobody in the stadium. It was during the Covid year.
“That feeling, that celebration in the locker room and, bro, we partied like it was 1999 again,” said Higgins.
For a championship-starved city like Cleveland, their Super Bowl came a month earlier than the actual game during the 2020 season.
