CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – You could own a piece of priceless Browns history.
Quarterback Frank Ryan’s 1964 Browns NFL championship ring is going up for auction.
Lelands is offering the ring as part of their mid-spring classic auction which closes June 4. The opening bid for the ring is set at $25,000.
Ryan threw for 2,404 yards and a league-best 25 touchdown passes during the 1964 season, the last time the Browns won the NFL’s top prize.
In the 1964 championship game Ryan threw three touchdowns – all to receiver Gary Collins – in a 27-0 victory over the Baltimore Colts.

The lot description for the ring reads: “Exceptional 1964 Cleveland Browns Championship Ring issued to starting quarterback Frank Ryan and coming from his personal collection. Measures size 12.5 with bezel reading Browns World Champions around a brown set stone supporting a sizeable genuine diamond. Very top of left shank has "Browns 27 - Colts 0" engraved above a relief of the year and NFL shield. Opposite shank has Ryan's full name engraved above a Browns helmet. Ryan tossed three touchdown passes and legend Jim Brown amassed 151 total yards in Cleveland's December 27 victory, the last time the Browns franchise brought a title to Cleveland. Engraved "LBG 14K" inside, in NRMT condition, and sources directly from Ryan's family.”
The auction also features a Kobe Bryant game-worn jersey from his days at Lower Merion High School, Tom Brady card collection, Brady’s first touchdown football and a Babe Ruth glass plate negative that produced his 1933 Goudey #181 card.
