CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns path to the playoffs this week was laid out by the NFL office Monday afternoon.
In all, there are eight scenarios for the Browns to end the league’s longest playoff drought, which dates back to the 2002 season.
The easiest path for the Browns is to just beat the Steelers Sunday. Win and in.
It's that simple but should Pittsburgh continue to do what they have done since 1999, and beat the Browns, again, there are seven other scenarios that can get Cleveland to play on Wild Card weekend.
The Colts lose to Jacksonville OR
The Titans lose to the Texans + a Dolphins win or tie at Buffalo + Ravens win or tie at Cincinnati OR
A Browns tie + Ravens loss to the Bengals OR
A Browns tie + Miami loss to the Bills OR
A Browns tie + Titans loss at Houston OR
A Browns tie + Colts tie OR
A Browns tie + Titans tie + Ravens win + Dolphins win
Hopefully the Browns can handle their own business Sunday against whoever suits up for Pittsburgh, but should they fall behind we now know who to root for while scoreboard watching.
