The Saints might not have drafted any LSU stars in recent seasons, but the same can't be said for the free agent market.

Just days after agreeing to a deal with former Tigers star Tyrann Mathieu on a 3-year deal, it appears they've done the same with wide receiver Jarvis Landry. The news was first reported by Jordan Schultz and confirmed by Landry via Twitter moments later.

The Saints had still not officially confirmed or announced the deal.

The former Dolphins and Browns star tweeted, simply: "Who dat," accompanied with a video montage of Landry's NFL and college clips, along with carious Saints highlights. The Louisiana native played his first three seasons with Miami after being drafted in the 2nd round in 2014, and played the past four with the Cleveland Browns

Landry's name was a popular one throughout free agency, but he never found the correct fit with reports that his desired price tag was in the range of $20 million per season.

Details of the deal were still unknown as of Friday afternoon, but the signing marks a high-point for a team that went into the offseason in need of playmakers at the wide receiver position following a season marked by injury and unavailability. The team is now set to bring back star Michael Thomas, who missed the entire 2021 season due to injury, drafted Chris Olave at No. 11 in the 2022 draft, and adds Landry, a highly productive inside receiver everywhere he's been.

In his career Landry has caught 688 passes for 7,598 yards and 37 touchdowns. He's surpassed 1,000 yards in three seasons and has twice caught more than 100 passes.

Marquez Callaway was the Saints' leading receiver in 2021 with 46 catches for 698 yards and 6 touchdowns, followed closely by Deonte Harty. That pair will now likely serve in depth roles, with Harty also doubling as an all-pro return man.
