CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Browns center JC Tretter has been re-elected and will serve a second term as NFLPA president.
The vote was unanimous the NFLPA announced Friday.
Tretter, who graduated from Cornell University with a degree in industrial labor relations, was elected two days before the NFL and players agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement that added a 17th game to the schedule.
Along with executive director DeMaurice Smith, Tretter helped lead NFL players through the COVID-19 pandemic by negotiating health and safety protocols without a single game – or paycheck – being missed the last two years.
Tretter originally signed with the Browns as a free agent in 2017 for three years and $16.75 million. He is entering the final year of another three-year, $32.55 million deal that is scheduled to pay him $8.25 million.
