CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Although it remains unclear who will start for the Browns at quarterback Sunday, Joe Flacco was elevated from the practice squad for the second straight week, making him available against the Jaguars.

The team also waived quarterback P.J. Walker, creating a roster spot on the active 53 to activate cornerback Cameron Mitchell from injured reserve.

Walker started two of the six games he appeared in this season where he completed 48.6% of his passes for 674 yards with one touchdown and five interceptions.

Mitchell, selected in the fifth-round in April, appeared in the first eight games with one start before suffered a hamstring injury and was placed on injured reserve on November 7 and was designated for return on December 6.

Flacco completed 23 of 44 passes for 254 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in last week’s 36-19 loss to the Rams in Los Angeles.

After Sunday’s game against Jacksonville Cleveland can elevate Flacco, who was signed to the practice squad on November 20, one more time before he permanently reverts to the practice squad or they have to sign him to the 53 to allow him to continue to play or be available.

Right tackle Dawand Jones was downgraded to out due to a knee injury suffered this week.

James Hudson will likely be called upon to start in place of Jones.

Receiver Amari Cooper, who was listed as questionable, cleared the concussion protocol and is available Sunday. Cooper, who leads the team in catches and receiving yardage this season, was placed in the protocol during last week’s loss.
