BEREA, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Browns defensive coordinator Joe Woods denied knowing if the Browns planned to work out veteran free agent linebacker Reuben Foster on Friday.
Kimberly Martin of ESPN reported the scheduled workout Thursday morning.
“I have no idea,” Woods said. “I’m fine at the linebacker position.”
Forster reportedly recently worked out for the Jets and Jaguars.
Foster was drafted in the first round by the 49ers in 2017 but off the field problems, including two arrests on domestic violence charges which were later dropped, forced the team to cut him in 2018.
A misdemeanor marijuana charge was dropped against Foster, but he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor weapons charge. He was suspended by the NFL for two games for violating policies on personal conduct and substance abuse.
Forster was claimed by the Washington Football Team off waivers, but he suffered a serious knee injury in 2019, including a torn ACL and he never played for them.
In 16 career games that he appeared in for the 49ers, Forster has totaled 101 tackles, seven QB hits and two pass breakups.
