After re-signing with the Browns on Sept. 20, veteran running back Kareem Hunt believes he’s rounding into top form but isn’t quite there yet.
“Definitely feel like there’s still a little bit more room to get back to when I’m at my best,” Hunt said on the Afternoon Drive on The Fan on Thursday. “I’m just taking it day-by-day, week-by-week. I’m excited because the more weeks I stack up, the better I’m going to keep getting.”
The 28-year-old Hunt rushed 12 times for 47 yards and a touchdown in the Browns’ 19-17 upset win against the 49ers last Sunday. It marked his biggest workload of the season, and he felt more like himself because he was running “mean” against one of the NFL’s best defenses.
“That’s the right word,” Hunt said. “I feel like that’s my style of running. I always run pretty mean. It felt good to be able to get comfortable again and be in full pads and going to the ground and stuff like that. It’s only been, what, three weeks? I’ve played three games so far. It’s nice to get back in that groove.”
