CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The most recent lawsuit filed against Deshaun Watson last month has been resolved.
Tony Buzbee, attorney for the plaintiff in the case confirmed the agreement, first reported by ProFootballTalk.com, to 92.3 The Fan Monday evening.
“We have now resolved our client’s claim with Deshaun Watson. The settlement is confidential,” Buzbee said.
The confidential agreement likely includes the provision that the accuser will no longer cooperate with the NFL’s investigation under the personal conduct policy into the allegations that Watson sexually assaulted the accuser back in October 2020.
According to Harris County, Texas court records, there remains two active lawsuits against Watson.
This is the 24th lawsuit Watson has settled involving alleged sexual impropriety by Watson.
Watson served an 11-game suspension in 2022 and paid a $5 million fine as part of a disciplinary settlement with the NFL stemming from allegations of sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions that were made while Watson was a member of the Houston Texans.
Cleveland acquired Watson from the Texans in March 2022 for six draft picks, including three first round selections, before giving him a fully guaranteed $230 million contract.
In 17 games for the Browns, Watson has completed 60% of his passes for 3,069 yards with 19 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He’s been sacked 63 times.
