CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – This Victory Monday thing is kinda fun.
That’s four in a row for the hottest Browns team to play in the fall since the 90’s following Sunday’s 32-23 win over the Colts.
Here’s who gets our game balls this week.
Myles Garrett – Garrett is going to need a bigger trophy case as he picks up his fourth game ball of the season from us. All he did against Indianapolis was collect his sixth sack and another tackle for loss, force Phillip Rivers to throw an interception and throw the ball away resulting in a safety. He also hit Rivers at least four times despite being double and triple tag tamed by the Colts line, tight ends and backs.
Rashard Higgins – Higgins got to finally partake in the fun Sunday by starting in place of KhaDarel Hodge. He also got to walk the red carpet after catching all three targets for 31 yards, including his first touchdown of 2020 – a 15 yarder from Baker Mayfield in the second quarter. Higgins delivered a hellacious block late in the fourth quarter that helped spring D’Ernest Johnson for a 28-yard gain.
Kareem Hunt – Hunt had to work for every one of the 72 yards he got on the ground against the top-ranked run defense entering Week 5. He also caught 3 passes for 21 yards, including a 2-yard TD in the second quarter. He Cleveland native leads the Browns with 6 touchdowns combined this season.
Ronnie Harrison – Harrison jumped a route and stepped in front of a ball intended for TY Hilton and took it the other way – 47 yards to the house to put the Browns in front by 17. Before leaving the game with a concussion, Harrison also broke up a third down pass on the near sideline to force a punt.
Sheldrick Redwine – Redwine hadn’t played a defensive snap all season until he took the field when Harrison departed in the second half. He made himself at home quickly with an interception of Rivers and he broke up another pass.
Bridget McDevitt – McDevitt, who is the wife of Browns vice president/general counsel Ted Tywang, lost her battle with cancer Friday. Several players wore t-shirts in recent days in support of her courageous fight. Following the game, head coach Kevin Stefanski set aside a game ball for her family and we have done the same. Our condolences to her family, friends, loved ones and the entire Browns organization.
