CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Browns tendered contracts to tight end Stephen Carlson and defensive end Porter Gustin.
Both players were exclusive rights free agents and will return in 2021.
Carlson was signed by the Browns as an undrafted free agent in 2019. He appeared in all 16 games, including two starts, last season where he caught one pass for 11 yards.
He was third on the team with nine special teams tackles and recovered the onside kick that helped seal the Browns' playoff-clinching victory over the Steelers in Week 17.
The Browns signed Gustin midway through the 2019 season. He appeared in 14 games with three starts this past season where he totaled 30 tackles, two for loss to go with a pair of QB hits. His first career interception came in the Browns' Wild Card victory over the Steelers.
In six games during the 2019 season Gustin had 13 tackles, one for loss, a sack and fumble recovery.
