CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) - The Cleveland Cavaliers have introduced a new logo and color scheme that will be first issued in the upcoming 2022-23 NBA season.

The new look discards the navy and "mustard gold" colors with wine, black, and a revamped gold that will feature on the team's new logos and uniforms - the latter of which was not fully revealed.

The logo set, according to the franchise, is rooted in Cavaliers history and reveals the evolution of the team's brand by pulling cues from different eras to "bring the spirit of the past into the future."

Cavs Creative Director and artist Daniel Arshem explains: “Through the years there have been layered interpretations of the Cavs logos and color hues to represent the brand. In thinking about the next chapter of where to go with the design, the approach was to compose distilled versions of the logos to create a refreshed identity.”

The transition to the new brand identity will finish in time for the start of the 2022-23 season, including the new Cavaliers Statement, Icon, and Association Edition uniforms, which be unveiled later this summer.
