
CLEVELAND, Ohio ( 92.3 The Fan) – It’s official, Donovan Mitchell is the newest member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The team finalized the blockbuster trade Saturday afternoon, acquiring Mitchell from the Utah Jazz in exchange for guard Collin Sexton, forward Lauri Markkanen, 2022 first-round pick Ochai Agbaji and three future unprotected first round draft picks in 2025, 2027 and 2029.
The Cavs and Jazz have also agreed to swap picks in 2026 and 2028.
The Wine and Gold bid farewell to the three players with tributes on social media.
Mitchell is a three-time All-Star who started 67 games for the Jazz last season while averaging 25.9 points, 4.2 rebounds and logged career-highs assists (5.3) and steals (1.5). The 6-3 guard has also reached the playoffs in all five of his NBA seasons, starting 19 games and averaging 28.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 4.7 in 37-minutes per game.
He departs the Jazz ranking second in team history in three-pointers made (958), eighth in points scored (8,234).
Mitchell is also just the sixth player in NBA history to total over 8,000 points, 1,500 assists and 1,400 rebounds through their first career 345 contests, joining LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Michael Jordan, Pete Maravich and Oscar Robertson.

The Cavs tip off the pre-season Wedesday October. 5th in Philadelphia before getting the regular season underway against the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday October 19th at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.
Mitchell makes will make his home debut when the Cavs take on the Washington Wizards on Sunday October 23rd at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse before welcoming his former team to Cleveland on Monday December 19th at 7 p.m.
