CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) - Cleveland Cavaliers guard Darius Garland is set to make his return Wednesday night against the Boston Celtics after missing the previous five games with an eye injury, according to head coach J.B. Bickerstaff prior to the game.
“As far as the minutes go, probably shorter stints for him,” Bickerstaff stated, “But obviously, leaving some minutes for the fourth quarter."
The reigning All-Star had played in just the first 13 minutes of the Cavs’ Oct. 19 season opener against the Toronto Raptors before getting poked in the eye, forcing him to sit out since.
Garland will rejoin a Cleveland team that is among the fastest starters to the NBA season – a 5-1 record and a second-place spot in the Eastern Conference standings. They are also one of two teams (along with the Phoenix Suns) that rank among the top ten in offensive and defensive rating, according to StatMuse.
