McNair received 16 first-place votes after the Kings ended an 18-year playoff drought by winning the Pacific division and securing the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference.
The Cavaliers, who finished the regular season 51-31, also returned to the playoffs after a five-year absence as the No. 4 seed in the East.
