Cavs G Darius Garland to miss second straight Wednesday night against Rockets

CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Cavaliers guard Darius Garland will not play Wednesday night against the Rockets in Houston.

The team ruled Garland out Tuesday afternoon due to lower back soreness.


Garland sat out Monday night’s 93-90 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. Cedi Osman stepped into the starting lineup for Garland and handed out a career-high 12 assists in the victory.

Garland, an All-Star hopeful who is averaging 19.8 points, 8.2 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 44 games this season, and James Harden were the only two players to average at least 20 points and 10 assists in the month of January.

Entering Tuesday night’s games, Cleveland is 31-20 on the season, in the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference but just 1 full game behind No. 1 seeded Chicago.
