The Cleveland Cavaliers selected Kansas guard Ochai Agbaji with the 14th overall pick in Thursday night's NBA Draft.
Agbaji, 22, was a major contributor to the Kansas Jayhawks' national championship run this past spring, earning the NCAA Tournament Most Oustanding Player honors.
The 6'5, 217-pound Agbaji averaged 18.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game throughout the entire season and was a consensus All-America First Team selection, as well as the Big 12 Player of the Year.
"He can really shoot," said Cavs president Koby Altman following Agbaji's selection. "He's got a really quick trigger...he's just an incredible human being. Brings a lot of accolades, but brings a humbleness."
"He has that winning pedigree that we like," Altman added on Agbaji's national title-winning experience.
The Cavs also used the first of their three second-round picks on Senegalese big man Khalifa Diop (39th overall).

The 7-foot-1, 240-pound 20-year-old was a member of the Senegalese national team and spent the last season in Spain with Gran Canaria. Diop averaged 14 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in the FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup.
With the 49th overall pick (which Cleveland acquired in a draft-day trade with the Sacramento Kings), the Cavs selected USC's Isaiah Mobley - one year after taking his younger brother, Evan, with the third overall pick.
The elder Mobley (6'10, 235 pounds) was a three-year player for the Trojans, averaging 14.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 3.3 assists during the 2021-22 collegiate season.
The Cavs' final pick of the night was Australian Luke Travers, who played for the NBL's Perth Wildcats.
Listed at 6-foot-7 and 199 pounds, the 20-year-old Travers averaged 7.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game this past season for Perth.
