Cavs tease return, start of 2020-21 NBA season

CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – After being snubbed from participating in the NBA’s restart bubble in Orlando, the Cavaliers now know when they’ll take the floor again.

The team teased its return on its social media accounts Tuesday with a subtle nod to the closing seconds of Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals.

The NBA and NBPA announced late Monday night they had come to an agreement on the structure for a 72-game season as well as the financial structure for it.

Details on the COVID-19 protocols the league will operate with are still being worked out. During the restart, there were no positive tests thanks to strict protocols inside the bubble but with no bubble this time they'll need to prepare for complications that Major League Baseball and the NFL have dealt with.

Free agency will begin on Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. and contracts can be signed starting at 12:01 p.m. on Nov. 22.

Training camps will open Dec. 1.
