Kevin Love to return to Cavs for Friday night game vs Pelicans

Larry Nance Jr. also expected to play vs New Orleans; Darius Garland (groin) out

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland Cavaliers confirmed prior to Friday night's game in New Orleans that Kevin Love would be active, bringing the forward back to the court for the first time since late December.

The 32-year-old Love had been inactive for all but two of Cleveland's games this season due to a calf injury sustained on Dec. 27 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Love is not the only Cavs veteran returning to face Zion Williamson and the Pelicans, as Larry Nance Jr. is expected to play after nursing a hand injury that required surgery back in February.

One of the Cavs' top starters, however, in guard Darius Garland, will be out for the contest with a groin injury sustained back on March 3 against the Indiana Pacers.

The Cavs (14-22) currently sit 13th in the Eastern Conference standings, set to face New Orleans (15-22) are also 13th in the West, having lost to the Minnesota Timberwolves 135-105 on Thursday.
