The Cavaliers puppet master who has seemingly pulled a lot of the right strings so far has been rewarded. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reports Koby Altman and Cleveland agreed to a contract extension through the 2027-28 season and will assume a new title of president of basketball operations.
The Wine and Gold have been one of the surprises this year in the NBA as they've already passed up last season's win total despite losing Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio to season-ending injuries. Altman quickly filled the backcourt hole by acquiring veteran Rajon Rondo from the Lakers.
The Cavaliers play the Utah Jazz Wednesday night at Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City.
