The Tigers' improbable run has cleared another hurdle.

With a four-run 8th inning rally, the Tigers overcame the Astros on Wednesday to sweep their wild card series in Houston. The big hit came from Andy Ibanez, who roped a bases-loaded, two-out double off star reliever Josh Hader to give the Tigers a 5-2 lead they wouldn't relinquish.

Houston is done, after seven straight trips to the ALCS. Cleveland is next. The Tigers will take on the Guardians in the ALDS, which starts Saturday in Cleveland. Game 1 is scheduled for Saturday at 1:08 p.m., with Game 2 on Monday at 4:08 p.m.

The best-of-five series will shift to Comerica Park for Game 3 on Wednesday, game time to be determined. It will be the first playoff baseball game in Detroit since 2014. Game 4, if necessary would be Thursday, and Game 5 would be Saturday in Cleveland.

The series will be broadcast on TBS.

Detroit went 6-7 this season against the AL Central champs. But with their two wins in Houston, the Tigers are now 33-13 since Aug. 10 -- when they were eight games under .500 and 10 games back in the wild card race.
