CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) - Guardians third baseman José Ramírez is scheduled to undergo right thumb surgery within the next several weeks to address a torn ulnar collateral ligament he suffered in mid-June, according to a Wednesday statement from the Guardians.

The surgery - of which rehab is expected six to eight weeks - is not expected to significantly impact Ramírez's off-season training or his availability for the start of the 2023 regular season.

Ramírez is coming off his fourth All-Star season in Cleveland, in which he batted .280 with 26 home runs and 126 runs batted in over 157 regular season games.
