Guardians agree with Shane Bieber, 6 others on contracts for 2022 season

CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – The Cleveland Guardians and 2020 AL Cy Young award winner Shane Bieber have agreed on a $6 million salary for the 2022 season according to Zack Meisel of The Athletic.

Bieber is one of seven players to agree to a contract on Tuesday, avoiding arbitration.

Meisel reports that Franmil Reyes will receive $4.55 million, Amed Rosario $4.95 million, Austin Hedges $4.0 million, Cal Quantril $2.51 million, Bradley Zimmer $1.3 million and Josh Naylor $1.2 million following settlements agreed to Tuesday.

The agreements will push the Guardians opening day payroll for the upcoming season close to $50 million.
