CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) - Cleveland Guardians infielder José Ramírez has been named a Silver Slugger Award winner for the 2022 season.
The Guardians infielder bagged a Silver Slugger for the fourth time in his career after batting .280 with 39 home runs and 126 runs batted in, along with an American League-best 44 doubles, 20 stolen bases, 168 total hits, 90 runs scored, a .355 slugging percentage, and a .869 OPS.
Earlier this season, Ramírez earned his fourth All-Star appearance and managed the 1000th hit of his career during the Guardians' home opener - all after signing a 5-year, $124 million contract extension prior to the season (the largest deal in Cleveland's history).
Ramírez was named a 2022 Silver Slugger finalist along with Guardians teammate Andrés Giménez, and was also a 2022 Gold Glove finalist at third base, finishing behind the award-winning Ramón Urías of Baltimore.
