CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez continues to be the center of trade speculation while contract extension talks between the two sides seemed to have cooled off.
Héctor Gómez previously reported that the Toronto Blue Jays have expressed interest in acquiring Ramirez and Tuesday another team apparently is interested in entering the conversation.
Ramirez, who has finished in the top-5 in AL MVP voting the last five years, is scheduled to be the Guardians’ highest paid player at $12 million this season. He has a $14 million club option remaining for 2023.
Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com and the Plain Dealer spoke with Chico about the contract talks between Ramirez and the Guardians Monday night on 92.3 The Fan. Listen to the interview in the player above.
