Cleveland, OH (92.3 The Fan) – The Indians beat the Rockies 5-3 on Tuesday afternoon. Carlos Santana hit his first home run of the spring, finished with three RBI and the Tribe picked up their first win in Cactus League play.
The Rockies did threaten in the ninth, scoring two runs on a Brian Mundell double. The Indians improve to 1-2 this spring with a tie. Dan Otero and Adam Cimber both pitched a perfect 1-2-3 inning.
Leonys Martin finished 2-for-3 with a run scored. Daniel Johnson went 2-for-3 with a home run and a RBI triple. The Indians acquired the 23-year-old outfielder in the Yan Gomes trade.
The Indians play two games tomorrow. They'll send a team to Maryvale to play the Milwaukee Brewers at 3:05. Shane Bieber will make his first start of the spring. Meanwhile, Adam Plutko will get the start in Goodyear against the Mariners.
