Pair of four-run innings boost Indians past Cubs, 10-4

Bobby Bradley uncorked his second home run of camp

CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) - Two four-run innings were more than enough for the Cleveland Indians to win their fourth game of Spring Training, a 10-4 final over the Chicago Cubs.

Trailing 2-0 in the third inning, Cleveland pushed across four runs after an RBI ground-rule double from Cesar Hernandez (1-for-3, RBI, run), an RBI single by Jose Ramirez (1-for-2, RBI) and a 2-RBI line drive single off the bat of Eddie Rosario (1-for-2, 3 RBI).

After regaining the lead in the top of the fifth inning, Bobby Bradley (1-for-3, HR 3 RBI) launched his second home run of the spring, a three-run shot to center field to give the Indians an 8-4 lead.

Tribe starter Triston McKenzie (2.0 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 BBs, 1 K) allowed a pair of earned runs in his first spring start, including a solo home run to Nico Hoerner (2-for-2, HR, 2 RBI), before giving way to Cal Quantrill (1.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BBs, 2 K's). Dominican flamethrower Emmanuel Clase (1.0 IP, K) reached triple digits on the radar gun during a scoreless fifth inning, while Anthony Gose (1.0 IP, 2 K's) retired the side in order to cap off the abbreviated 7-inning game.

"Overall, arm felt good, body felt good," McKenzie said after the game. "Settled in in the second inning there...excited to keep it going."

The Indians return to Goodyear on Saturday for a matchup against the Chicago White Sox. Cleveland will start Scott Moss (0-0, 13.50) to the mound for his second appearance (first start) of the spring, while the Sox will counter with right-hander Reynaldo López.
