Starter Zach Plesac, who has been on the injured list since he hurt his thumb back on May 24th, will be activated to start Thursday's game against the Royals. He is expected to be on a pitch count and only throw about 60 pitches.

From there, the right-hander will go to Arizona during the All-Star break where he will pitch a simulated game.

Plesac will then start for the Indians when the travel to Oakland to take on the Athletics in the first series after the All-Star break.

Injuries have ravaged the Indians as a whole and particularly the pitching staff as starters Aaron Civale and Shane Bieber are still sidelined with injuries.

Meanwhile, third-baseman Jose Ramirez is back in the lineup Monday evening while the Tribe is in Tampa Bay to take on the Rays.

Due to the path of Tropical Storm Elsa, Major League Baseball has adjusted the schedule of the Indians’ three-game series with the Rays at Tropicana Field.

Tuesday’s game has been postponed and rescheduled as a traditional single-admission seven-inning doubleheader on Wednesday, July 7 at 12:10 p.m.
