Cleveland State has tabbed longtime Iowa State assistant coach Daniyal Robinson to be the next head coach of the school's men's basketball program. The move comes just two weeks after former head coach Dennis Gates accepted the head coaching gig at Missouri.

The Vikings will introduce Robinson to the media for the first time in a 2 pm press conference on Wednesday, in the CSU student center ballroom.

Robinson's resume includes two separate stints at Iowa state, spanning eight seasons. His first stop in Ames came between 2008-2010 under Greg McDermott. He returned to the Cyclones program in 2015 under then head man Steve Prohm and was retained by current head coach T.J. Otzelberger last season.

Now, Robinson becomes the 17th head coach in CSU's storied history, taking over a program coming off back-to-back Horizon League regular season titles, which also included a trip to the NCAA Tournament in 2021.
