(610 Sports) – Chiefs head coach Andy Reid provided a bit of good news on Sunday, as he announced that second-year running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire and backup running back Darrell Williams, are both expected to play in Sunday's season opener against the Cleveland Browns.
Edwards-Helaire had sprained his ankle in a preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals, the same game in which Williams sustained a mild concussion.
Edwards-Helaire, who the Chiefs selected in the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft, tallied 1,100 all purpose yards during his rookie season and scored 5 touchdowns. The second-year back will look to take on a larger role in the receiving game this season and become the team's third receiving option behind Travis Kelce and Tyreek Hill.
