The Duke Blue Devils are off to a great start in what is coach Mike Krzyzewski's final season in Durham. Despite the success on the court, Coach K will have to deal with an issue off it -- as two Duke players, one being Krzyzewski's grandson Michael Savarino and the other being star forward Paolo Banchero, were charged Sunday morning relating to a DWI case.

According to The Raleigh News & Observer, Savarino was charged with a DWI and Banchero with aiding and abetting in Orange County, North Carolina. Coach K says the university is still reviewing the case.
“We are reviewing a legal matter involving two members of the men’s basketball team,” Krzyzewski told the paper in a statement released by the Duke athletic department. “Any further actions as a result of this situation will ultimately be determined by the Vice President/Director of Athletics and University officials.”
This is a bad look for both players, but especially for Banchero who is considered one of the top players in college basketball and is projected to be the No. 2 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. The athletic forward has shown a lot of promise, averaging 19 points and 8 rebounds per game in three victories to start his college career. That includes a 22-point, 7-rebound performance in a win over blue-blood Kentucky.
Savarino, who is the son of coach K's daughter, is a junior who was recently elevated from a walk-on to a scholarship player and has played in a total of three games in his college career.
Savarino's court date is Dec. 9; Banchero's is Dec. 8.
