The Lions protected Hank Fraley from the Bears. They couldn't keep two others.

Wide receivers coach Antwaan Randle El and assistant quarterbacks coach J.T. Barrett are joining Ben Johnson's staff in Chicago, per reports.

Randle El will be the Bears' receivers coach and assistant head coach, per ESPN. He was one of Dan Campbell's original hires in Detroit and played a key role in the development of the likes of Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Kalif Raymond.

Barrett joined the Lions' staff as an offensive assistant in 2022 -- his first job in coaching -- and spent the last two seasons coaching the quarterbacks under Mark Brunell. He will be the main quarterbacks coach for the Bears, per the Chicago Tribune, with the growth of Caleb Williams his charge.

Both Randle El and Barrett were well-liked in the Lions' building, which is the norm for Campbell's coaches. He has several vacancies to fill this offseason, including both offensive and defensive coordinator jobs.

The Lions managed to retain Fraley by promoting him to run game coordinator on top of his offensive line duties.
