Patrick Mahomes was not at Sunday’s Formula One Miami Grand Prix, something a reporter from Sky Sports found out the hard way.

Martin Brundle, a former racecar driver and now broadcaster for Sky Sports, tried to snag an interview with who he thought was the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl-winning quarterback at the event.

Instead, he was unknowingly interviewing Duke basketball star Paolo Banchero, creating for quite an awkward moment on live television.

Brundle seemed to just shrug off the case of mistaken identity after he realized it was not Mahomes.

Banchero and Mahomes do have similar hairstyles, and Brundle seemed to call for him by only seeing the back of his head and side profile.

Of course, Banchero stands at an astounding six-foot-10, while Mahomes is listed at six-foot-three, which is quite a big difference in height.

Banchero seemed to have a good laugh about it and even Mahomes chimed on on Twitter.

Heck, Banchero is projected by many to be a top-three pick in next month’s NBA Draft and could blossom into an NBA star; he just wasn’t the guy Brundle thought he was interviewing.
