The NFL has announced their findings and the penalties for a pair of anti-tampering investigation related to the Eagles addition of Saquon Barkley and the Falcons addition of Kirk Cousins. The Eagles will not be penalized after finding were insufficient, and the Falcons will lose a 5th Round pick and face some fines for what the NFL deemed "improper contact with prospective unrestricted free agents."
The full extent of the penalties the Falcons will face is losing a 5th Round Draft pick in 2025, along with a fine of $250,000 against the team and a separate fine of $50,000 for Falcons GM Terry Fontenot. The punishment is not solely due to conversations with Kirk Cousins, but also contact with Darnell Mooney and Charlie Woerner.
The violations are considered logistical and administrative and did not involve illegal contact prior to the opening of the negotiating window.
