A Steelers fan says he has to sell his tickets for Sunday’s game against the Broncos because he accidentally shot himself and got arrested.
The fan on Steelers Reddit, who goes by SFVclepto, said in his description, “long story short these were (birthday) gift but I shot myself in leg, got arrested and now can’t leave California.”
He’s selling the tickets for $300 each.
Many fellow Reddit users wanted to know the whole story and the man didn’t disappoint:
Ok I bought a shotgun from am acquaintance. Cut the barrel down and sawed off the stock. The stock basically shattered so I temporarily attached an extra AR grip I had. During that ordeal the loosened rand I took the whole assembly out. When putting it back in later on there's a part that kinda teeter toters back and forth (first time working on a shotgun so Isl what it's called) for some reason teeter totter part was preventing assembly from seating correctly so I left it out. Took it up the street and test fired it.
Came back went to set it down and it reached out spit birdshot into my leg.
Vape in my pocket took the brunt of the shot and probably saved my life only around 40 of the pellets made it into my leg. Pellets ricocheted off floor and hit me; n the face which got a couple stitches. Had to go to hospital where I ended up getting arrested because I am a felon and not supposed to possess firearms. Currently out on OR with an ankle monitor so my first trip to Heinz field will have to wait
Of course we don’t know if this story is true or not, but he did provide a lot of detail and even an x-ray of the wounds.
The user adds his wife got them for him as a gift and the money is not being used for legal fees.
Many commenters compared his ordeal to when former Steelers receiver Plaxico Burress shot himself in the leg in New York, but we’re just glad no one was seriously injured or worse.
