Minkah Fitzpatrick leaves Monday Night Football with chest injury

Safety the second Pro Bowl player to suffer game-ending injury

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Minkah Fitzpatrick ran the length of the field to stop Mike Ford, Junior at the half-yard line and prevent a touchdown, as he did so the All-Pro suffered a chest injury Monday night.

Fitzpatrick had the pass defense on the ball that was eventually caught by linebacker Alex Highsmith and returned 30 yards for a touchdown on the first play of the game. When he left the game, Fitzpatrick led all tacklers with six tackles.

The 26-year-old was voted to the Pro Bowl last year and 10th in the voting for AP Defensive Player of the Year with an NFL leading six interceptions to go with 11 passes defended and 96 tackles. Fitzpatrick has 19 career interceptions, 17 with the Steelers. Damontae Kazee and Keanu Neal worked as the two primary safeties in his absence.
