PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – His picture is on the front page of the Arizona Cardinals website. Steelers senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach Brian Flores is one three final candidates for the Cards head coaching job.

NFL Network first reported it on Sunday that the Steelers assistant along with Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo and Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka were also going to get second interviews.

Flores spent this past season working with Steelers inside linebackers after he was fired by the Miami Dolphins and sued the team and the league. Steelers players, including quarterback Kenny Pickett, said they used Flores to bounce ideas off of and gain different perspectives from the former Bill Belichick assistant.

Flores may also be interviewing for open defensive coordinator positions, so even if he doesn’t get the Arizona job he may be going elsewhere.

He would be the third former Steelers assistant to be hired as the Cardinals head coach, Ken Whisenhunt and Bruce Arians were previously-the pair combined to go 94-81 from 2007-2017 with five playoff wins. Arizona fired head coach Kliff Kingsbury January 9 after 28 wins in 66 games.
