Is the Aaron Rodgers to the Jets hold-up also keeping Odell Beckham Jr. from finding a new home?
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday that the Baltimore Ravens have made an offer to OBJ, but reportedly, the receiver is waiting to see where Rodgers lands before making his own decision.
"Who would've thought that Aaron Rodgers might be the single factor holding up Odell's signing in the end?" Schefter said. "But I think everybody, including Odell, is waiting to see if and when the Jets get a deal done with Aaron Rodgers, at which point he would have some interest in uniting forces – and obviously, the interest would be mutual, with Rodgers having mentioned Beckham's name to the Jets front office during their visit. So I think these two sides are waiting to see what happens.”
Per Schefter, it looks like the Jets, Ravens, and “maybe the Rams” are the top contenders for Beckham, or at least the “most obvious landing spots,” although it would be interesting to see what the Jets would have to do to fit OBJ not only under the cap (he's said to be seeking $15 mullion a year), but at all in a receiver room that has already added free agents Mecole Hardman and Allen Lazard to veteran Corey Davis and Offensive Rookie of the Year Garrett Wilson.
