Jarrett Allen joined Baskin and Phelps and talked about the Cavaliers' current winning streak, and how the team stayed so tough during a hard stretch on the road. He discussed his Eastern Conference Player of the Week honor, what it's like playing among on a team of big men, and why the team's offense is clicking so well. He shared his impressions of Cleveland and talked about whether or not he'd want to have a wig night (a la Anderson Varejão) at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
"I didn't know much about Cleveland," he said. "That's just the honest truth. Nobody really sees Cleveland as the ideal destination. But you know, when I got here, my opinions were changed. Seeing the team, seeing the city, seeing the fans, it changed my opinion instantly. Everybody's so locked into what they're doing. It's almost like a small-knit community out here.
"Just looking around at the team, we're all young. The core's young ... we're all fighting for something. We all have something to prove in this league, and I just felt right being around these type of guys."
