It has not been a quiet off season for the Cavaliers.

Center Jarrett Allen has reportedly agreed to a three-year, $91 million max contract extension with Cleveland that will guarantee him $131 million over the next five seasons.

Adrian Wojnarowski reported the news late Wednesday afternoon.

Allen is now the third player the Cavaliers have extended this off-season, joining Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley.

Allen averaged 16.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists last season.
Prior to his injury in the Cavs’ playoff match up with the Magic, he was averaging 17 points and 13.8 rebounds through the first four games of the series. A rib injury kept him out of the final three games against Orlando and the entire series against the Celtics.

Allen posted 42 double-doubles last season – the most by a Cavalier since LeBron put up 52 in the 2017-2018 season.

In addition to the three massive extensions for Allen, Mitchell, and Mobley this off season, the Cavaliers also signed new head coach Kenny Atkinson to a five year deal. Atkinson coached Allen in his time with the Brooklyn Nets.

With Donovan Mitchell under contract until at least 2027, Darius Garland until 2028, Jarrett Allen until 2029, and Evan Mobley until 2030, the Cavaliers look to be setting themselves up to be Eastern Conference title contenders – and ultimately NBA Finals contenders – for a long time.
