The Jets have long been considered a prime candidate to be featured on this year’s version of Hard Knocks, and according to Mike Florio of NBC Sports, Gang Green is preparing for that likely scenario.
Per Florio, the Jets have made it known that they are not interested in being featured on this year’s HBO show, but are “bracing for” the reality where they are picked against their will.
New York, along with the Bears, Saints, and Commanders, are the only teams that fit the required criteria to be picked for Hard Knocks (no new head coach, no playoff berth in last two years, and haven’t been on the show in 10 years), and with the addition of Aaron Rodgers, the Jets are seen as the obvious home run for the network in terms of generating interest for the new season.
The Jets are not allowed to turn down the assignment, but they have publicly said they would prefer not to be featured, but they seems to be preparing as if they are not going to get their wish.
