Joe Benigno thinks a win Sunday against the Patriots is within reach for the Jets -- so long as the officials don't get in the way.

The Jets and Patriots are set for a fascinating matchup Sunday. New York is 6-3, trailing just the 7-3 Dolphins, who have a bye in Week 11, for the top spot in the AFC East. New England is 5-4 and beat the Jets in their Week 8 meeting, so a win for the Patriots could see the Jets slip into last place in the division.

A lot is at play here. The Jets have always had their hiccups playing the Patriots, and fell just short when they met two weeks ago, losing 22-17 at home. But a win will go a long way for the upstart Jets, and Benigno said in his weekly appearance on “Tiki & Tierney” that he doesn’t want the refs "hosing" New York.

“It’s time now to beat New England. As long as the officials don’t hose us again, which I don’t trust them at all. I don’t trust them, I’m never stopping with it,” Benigno said. “Wake me up the next time Zach Wilson gets a roughing the passer call go his way. Let me see that happen on Sunday. … The Jets have to overcome being the Jets, I’ve been saying this for a while now.”

Fanbases for all 32 teams think the officials are out to get them. That said, the next roughing the passer call Wilson draws will be his first. The Jets are one of four teams that haven’t been the beneficiary of a roughing the passer call at all this season (per NFL Penalties), but New York's defense has been whistled for it a league-high five times.
