A former Browns quarterback may now be taking over for former Cleveland Browns quarterback Colt McCoy in Arizona.
With Kyler Murray on the physically unable to perform list to start the season, that means either Dobbs or fifth-round rookie quarterback Clayton Tune will start the season in Washington against the Commanders.
The Cardinals acquired Dobbs from the Cleveland Browns after a trade on Thursday.
Dobbs was drafted by the Steelers in 2017 and he was with the team until 2019, when he was traded to Jacksonville for a fifth-round pick.
After he was waived by the Jaguars, Dobbs re-signed with the Steelers.
Dobbs signed with the Browns the next season and was released after Deshaun Watson came back from suspension.
He then signed with the Detroit Lions practice squad in early December 2022 and then signed off the practice squad by the Tennessee Titans.
He started in two games for the Titans going 20 for 39 with a touchdown and interception in his first game, a loss, to the Dallas Cowboys. He passed for 232 yards.
Dobbs and the Titans also lost their Week 18 match up against the Jaguars, with Dobbs going 20 for 29 with 179 yards, another touchdown and interception.
This past March, Dobbs re-signed with the Browns before the trade to Arizona.
During his two years with the Steelers, Dobbs appeared in six games, starting in none.
He had 45 yards, going 10 for 17 with zero touchdowns and one interception.
