The Kansas Jayhawks celebrated their National Championship victory over North Carolina in Lawerence, KS this past Sunday to a lot of fanfare.
One of the most notable moments from the festivities came from super senior Mitch Lightfoot, who channeled his inner Patrick Mahomes and later asked for the Chiefs star's approval on the Jayhawks’ title celebration etiquette.
In the video, the 6'8' forward was caught snagging a beer from the crowd and then proceeded to pound the ale at a record pace, much to the crowd's delight.
Afterward, the super senior then directly tweeted at Mahomes asking him if he "did it right," referencing the All-Pro's famous beer-chugging celebration during the Chiefs Super Bowl parade in 2020.
Mahomes responded, giving him the three flexing arm emojis, approving Lightfoot's celebration.
Despite being a Texas Tech alum, Mahomes has made his home in Kansas City and supported the Jayhawks throughout their entire run in March.
